Burden Bearer

Father, my heart is heavy. I feel like I have to carry the burden alone. Words like overwhelmed, distraught, exhausted seem to describe where I am. I am not sure how to let you carry my heavy load, so please show me how. Take it from me. Let me rest and be refreshed so that my heart won't be so heavy in the morning.

In Jesus name. Amen.

Seeing It Through

“Never doubt in the dark what God told you in the light…..”
-V. Raymond Edman

God is always the same, and is always available to His children...at the tip top of the mountain, or the darkest of valleys, His love for us never changes.

It is in the season when we don't feel as close to Him that we have to step out in faith...trust Him to sustain us to see the struggle through...cling to His Truth and Promises...praise Him for His blessings of grace and salvation...and recall the lighted path He has placed our feet upon.

We must see these drought seasons as an opportunity to be still, give Him the battle and trust in what He is doing...as He enables us to reclaim our joy and moves us from faith to faith...in the glory of our salvation in Him.

Psalm 9:14
That I may tell of all Your praises, that in the gates of the daughter of Zion I may rejoice in Your salvation.

Psalm 13:5
But I have trusted in Your lovingkindness; My heart shall rejoice in Your salvation.

Psalm 54:4
Behold, God is my helper; The Lord is the sustainer of my soul.

Romans 8:26
In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know how we ought to pray, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groans too deep for words.

Mark 14:36
"'
Abba, Father,'"He said, "all things are possible for You. Take this cup from Me. Yet not what I will, but what You will."

Romans 8:15
For you did not receive a spirit of slavery that returns you to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship, by whom we cry, "Abba! Father!"

Romans 8:16
The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children.

Psalm 51:10
Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me.

John 17:24
Father, I want those You have given Me to be with Me where I am, that they may see the glory You gave Me because You loved Me before the foundation of the world.

1 John 3:2
Beloved, we are now children of God, and what we will be has not yet been revealed. We know that when Christ appears, we will be like Him, for we will see Him as He is.

Eternal Perspective

A key factor in achieving peace in the midst of adversity is maintaining our eternal perspective. This strengthens our resolve as we wait patiently on The Lord. We focus on our Lifeboat, Who provides a refuge of still waters, regardless of the surrounding stormy seas.

Eternal perspective is gained through prayer and intimate fellowship with The Father, help from The Holy Spirit, saturation in the scripture, and by consciously removing our gaze from the worldly temptations Satan surrounds us with.

Eternal perspective lends a Godly view...the REAL big picture...and assists us in overcoming temptations and weathering storms, while maintaining perfect peace of mind.

When we look through the Christ lens, we experience love and grace, and we extend the same to others. We have everlasting peace, because we understand we were carefully crafted with purpose; that God intends for us to live an abundant, fruitful life, not one constantly tainted with misery, regret and uncertainty. As our faith is strengthened in the presence of our Savior, we glean more of Who our God really is and we gain a more personalized understanding of His design for us.

Our eternal perspective is founded in God's truth and is steeped in His cherished promises. We are enabled to make each day count for our King, because we have our eyes on the prize. So, at the end of an enormously tough day or season, we know with all that we are, it is virtually non-existent when compared to the reward of an eternity with Jesus.

Colossians 3:2
Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.

Philippians 3:14
I press on toward the goal to win the prize of God's heavenly calling in Christ Jesus.

John 16:33
I have told you these things so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take courage; I have overcome the world!

John 14:27
Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled; do not be afraid.

John 14:2
In My Father's house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you?

Hebrews 3:1
Therefore, holy brothers, who share in the heavenly calling, set your minds on Jesus, the apostle and high priest whom we confess.

Revelation 3:21
To the one who is victorious, I will grant the right to sit with Me on My throne, just as I overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.

Romans 8:17
And if we are children, then we are heirs: heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ--if indeed we suffer with Him, so that we may also be glorified with Him.

Philippians 3:20
But our citizenship is in heaven, and we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ...

John 3:16
For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that everyone who believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.

2 Samuel 22:31
As for God, His way is blameless; The word of the LORD is tested; He is a shield to all who take refuge in Him.

Be confident and unashamed, boldly approaching The Throne of Grace. And may incomprehensible, everlasting joy be yours every morning...forevermore!

God Fills The Void

Only the One who created our hearts is meant to fill it. We were designed by God to desire, seek and to ultimately be completed by Him.

Nothing else we attempt to occupy the void with will ever suffice because we are destined for Him. Only God can penetrate the emptiness and the longing in our hearts and offer us true satisfaction. Jesus is the sustenance of life and paid an incomprehensible price to make His home in our hearts!

So let us give the Lord our whole heart, as it belongs to Him to fill! And may we be blessed with the anointing of His love...as our soul-cup runs over with His fullness, born from the spring of eternal life.

Matthew 5:6
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.

Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

But whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a fount of water springing up to eternal life.

and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

...O God, You are my God; I shall seek You earnestly; My soul thirsts for You, my flesh yearns for You, In a dry and weary land where there is no water.

Colossians 1:16
For in Him all things were created, things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities. All things were created through Him and for Him.

Romans 11:36
For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever! Amen.

The Lord Is There

Let us rejoice and have everlasting comfort because Jehovah Shammah is ALWAYS there.

Our Father God is Creator of and sovereign over all in existence; He is ever present and dwells within those who believe, receive, trust and obey Him. We live because of Him and for Him. He comforts, protects, sustains, completes and fills every void.

Thank you, Heavenly Shepherd, for our value in You. We praise You that You are ever present in Your people, and therefore, we shall never want.

From Guilt To Grace

When we find our identity in Christ, we need to fully embrace God's marvelous grace and let go of the guilt and shame accumulated in our wanderings.

In His family, we are able to achieve a whole, healed identity...an enriched life blessed with freedom, peace and joy. With our salvation, we have an opportunity for an abundant and fruitful life, which results from receiving His unconditional love.

Let us cling to this picture of His acceptance and forgiveness!

Let us rejoice that He deems us worthy!

And may we envelop ourselves in His mercy and forgiveness, given freely to those who believe and receive Him as their Lord and Savior.

Luke 15:21-24
And the son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’ But the father said to his servants,‘Bring quickly the best robe, and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet. And bring the fattened calf and kill it, and let us eat and celebrate.  For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found.’ And they began to celebrate.

1 Timothy 1:14-15
And the grace of our Lord was exceedingly abundant, with faith and love which are in Christ Jesus. This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief.

In His Heavenly Hands

Let us invite God into every aspect of our lives, not withholding anything from the workmanship of His Heavenly Hands. Let us make Him the top priority...more of Him, less of us and all else.

For, it is in this type of transparency, surrender, commitment and partnership that He can restore and refine our whole heart...fill us with the full measure of His love and anointing of The Holy Spirit...complete His authentic and abundant plan in every facet of our lives...as we are honed, sanctified and refined for His purpose.

Authentic Path

Authentic Path

It is easy for us to get carried away in our thinking about what we want. We tend to plunge into the waters head first before first consulting with our Lifeguard...you know, the One who walks on water.

Regardless of our desires and plans, we should bring it all to the full counsel of God; present our petitions and align our emotions with His truth. We must lean into Him for understanding and ask Him to lay on our heart what His will is for our circumstances...and for our life.

When we bring Him into our decision-making, we receive the full measure of His promises. Only our Creator can lead us on our authentic and ordained path, as He is the Architect who designed it! He delights in the innermost desires of our heart and will guide us in the way that is holy, righteous and pleasing unto Him.

Praise The Lord that His plans, ways and thoughts are not like our own! He is the eternal resource with every correct answer. He is able to produce results far beyond what we can achieve alone. Complete surrender to His way is not always the path of least resistance, but we are assured peace as we progress...and to always receive what is His best for us.

Many plans are in a man's heart, But the counsel of the LORD will stand.

Our time of need for His grace, love and mercy is today and everyday...exactly where we are in this moment...in every struggle...in all aspects of our humanity.

Strong In The Power of His Might

Our enemy is formidable, but our God is greater. And, in our humanity, we are without strength except that which is bestowed upon us through The Holy Spirit. Therefore, we must be on alert and perpetually don the whole armor of God, as it is designed for Christians to wear at all times. We must pray without ceasing, be courageous, stand firm in faith...and be strong in the power of The Lord's might.

1 Peter 1:13
Therefore prepare your minds for action. Be sober-minded. Set your hope fully on the grace to be given you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
