“Temptation comes from our own desires, which entice us and drag us away. These desires give birth to sinful actions. And when sin is allowed to grow, it gives birth to death.” - James 1:14-15
Satan entices us with temptation, temptation leads to sin, sin to separation and separation to condemnation.
Satan often takes our God given desires for love, acceptance, or value
and offers a counterfeit version. He lures us away by our desires and
makes temptation look so appealing. Temptation is not a sin. Even
Jesus was tempted but it's when we act on that temptation that it
becomes sin. Now he has us right where he wants us-separated from God.
Our holy God can't look upon sin and so that same separation Jesus
endured on the cross for us we get a taste of. But Satan still isn't
done. Satan is the accuser of the brethren. So he encourages us to
submit to him and then discourages us and condemns us. He tries to
convince us we are not even worthy of forgiveness and tries push us even
further away. What deception!
Jesus died to demolish this separation, you have victory, you have grace and you have the hand of Jesus extended saying "Neither do I condemn you, go and sin no more." (John 8:11)
